Sen. Murray's Newfound Concern About The Deficit Is Fifteen Years Too Late

Monday, in an Editorial Board meeting with the The News Tribune, Sen. Murray said that Congress "struggles with the deficit every day". Although she claims she will work to reduce the deficit, her votes add to the deficit and increase the national debt.

U.S. Senate Candidate Dino Rossi said Monday, "Senator Murray's newfound concern about the deficit is fifteen years too late and $9 trillion dollars short. She was the deciding vote against the Balanced Budget Amendment and the deciding vote for the Reid-Pelosi health care bill. In between she voted for a budget that doubled the debt in five years, for the corporate bailouts, the jobless stimulus, 38 of the last 38 Appropriations bills, and all those earmarks. If she had been looking out for the people of Washington state rather than politicians in DC, the deficit would not be at the dangerous levels it is today."
